The agenda included a review of last year’s achievements, ongoing teaching, ongoing research initiatives, and upcoming events, such as seminars, workshops, and public lectures aimed at advancing the knowledge and skills of both faculty and students.
Prof. Kamweru, the Dean, noted that teaching had started well in the faculty for the new semester, with positive feedback from both staff and students. The board also received and discussed reviewed curricula from the Department of Biological Sciences, following the standard five-year cycle. Additionally, Prof. Mwathi presented a new PhD curriculum in Computer Science, which was well-received and will undergo further evaluation for implementation.
The meeting concluded with a call to action to strengthen interdisciplinary projects and a commitment to elevating the faculty’s academic and research profile. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for March to assess progress on the resolutions.
